Our First Product Shoot
The first product photoshoot that we did was for the 3 plates, The Green Plate, The Orange Plate and The Light Purple Plate. The samples had all arrived and we wanted to get photos ready to launch in time for when all plates were ready. While the samples weren't exactly as the final plates were going to be still felt we needed the images ready in order to launch in time. The orange plate had the wrong colour rim and were changing to match the text colour.
Despite the sample differences we loved how the first shoot for the plates turned out. We did the shoot in our second bedroom and pulled our coffee table that we got off marketplace into the room for the shoot. We also had white sheets we put under the table to try and hide any wood flooring from the shots.
How We Set Up the Photoshoot
We wanted the shoot to be simple since the plates have so much colour and impact themselves. The white table, white sheets, white wall, and natural light really brought out the unique colours in the plates.
How We Used the Ceramic Plates in the Photoshoot
In terms of what we shot on the plates we wanted to make sure was a mixture of a few unexpected items with a few functional items. While we wanted to show practical uses for the plates such as for food, candles, or jewellery, we also wanted to show that the plates can be abstract additions to your space and don't have to have a singular function or meaning. Finally we made sure to include a variety of flowers as feel this roots the brand and find it a beautiful accessory to all shoots.
What Cameras we Used on the Photoshoot
We did a mix of digital photography, film video, digital film, and iphone footage. The digital photography was taken on a Canon 5D, the video was taken on a Bolex film camera and a Sony Hi8 camera.
We look forward to the next shoot as have a lot more we want to relay through the different campaigns.
