While a lot of our content has been of using the plates as fun colourful tablescape moments, our favourite use for our plates isn't for food (don't worry it is still in the top 5). Meant to be multifunctional plates we list our personal favourite uses for our ceramic plates.
Jewellery Dish
We use The Light Purple Plate as a jewellery dish on our side table and it has been such a nice pop of colour on the bedside table. The 20 cm plate size is the perfect size for our jewellery. Before we were using our plate we found our necklaces constantly getting intertwined and TBH making our morning less enjoyable. Now with our plate there is more room to give each special jewellery piece room to breathe and stay tangle free.
Candle Holders
We are constantly burning pillar candles on our plates and they are the best for stopping wax from dripping all over the table. We love the plates because we can mix and match our candles and let them burn to the bottom without worrying about the mess. The wax once melted pops right off the plate as well with no damage to the plate so easy to reuse.
Key Holder and Sunglass Holder
We are SO guilty of being those people that are constantly losing and searching for our keys and our sunglasses. We've taken to keeping The Orange Plate on our kitchen island so that when we get home we attempt (guilty of still forgetting to do this) to put our keys and sunnies straight on the plate. It helps us keep track of our things in a much more aesthetic way.
Perfume and Cologne Holder
Ok we know we don't actually need to place our perfume and cologne on anything but honestly using The Green Plate for this makes it so much more special having a designated spot for these items. We also have a perfume in an amber glass container and cologne that is a periwinkle colour and we love how they look on the plate and has been another fun way to have colourful home decoration to our room.
Food Plates
We of course also love using our colourful ceramic plates to add more interest to our dinner table. We use ours both as side plates and as small main plates. They the perfect plate sets for having a meal, snacks, tapas. We will use one at a time or as set that we love to mix and match colours on. We love our plates in natural sunlight and find the colours really come to life when used in an outdoor setting such as in our Backyard Lunch campaign shoot. We also love colour matching our food to our plate or on the other end using as stark contrasts to what we are serving to give even more vibrancy to our dishes.
Paint Palette
When painting our plates are a fun alternative to traditional palettes. Personally we love painting with a lot of colour so having a colourful palette really adds to the entire experience. The paint washes off the plates easily as well with no damage to the plates so can be reused every art session. In the same realm we like using the plates to store charcoal pencils while we draw.
Coffee Table Centrepiece
We have a white coffee table so to add more colourful home decor to our place we have one of our colourful plates on display on our coffee table at all times. How we use it may differ. We sometimes store other colourful objects on it, hand lotions, pile of lemons. Its just a great way to stop from having a white and beige living room.
House Warming Gift
Being a versatile home decor item we find our colourful plates have been the best house warming gifts for friends. The multi functional aspect of the plates lets our friends that we gift them to find their own unique ways to incorporate the plates into their new space. Whether they use the plates as home decoration or to host dinner parties in their new home!
Honestly there are so many other small ways we have found that we love using our plates; we in general just love them as colourful home organisation tools.
